Law firm SEO and Gerrid Smith: how to evaluate a name
Gerrid Smith is a person's name, and no individual practitioner appears in the 40-supplier reading we completed on 3 August 2026. We hold no record of this person and describe nothing about them. What follows is a checklist for evaluating any named individual who sells search work to law firms.
Last updated: 5 August 2026
What does our supplier reading hold about this name?
Nothing at all, and that is a statement about our reading rather than about the person.
On 3 August 2026 we read 40 legal-marketing supplier websites in full and recorded one field against each: whether a price appeared on the page as published that day. Twelve did. The sample was drawn from the top ten organic results for fifteen buying terms across three countries, and every row in it is a business website. No individual practitioner is recorded in it.
So we have not met this person, corresponded with them, read their reporting, inspected a site they worked on, or spoken to anybody who has instructed them. We are not going to characterize their work, their results, their clients, their pricing or their history, because we hold no measurement of any of it and a guess printed next to a real name is worse than silence.
Why should you distrust this page, and read it anyway?
Because we sell the same category of work to the same firms, which makes any verdict we might offer worthless.
Waa Tech Digital FZE builds websites and search work for law firms in the United States. Anyone whose name ranks for a search like this one is a competitor of ours. A supplier's assessment of a rival is not evidence, disclosure does not neutralize the conflict, and a page that concluded with a recommendation would deserve to be closed unread.
What a competitor can honestly offer is method rather than judgment. The questions below are the ones we would want a partner to put to us, and we have not exempted ourselves from any of them.
Why is one person harder to check than a company?
Because almost everything a search returns for a human name was published by the person it names.
A company leaves traces it does not control. It appears in other companies' client lists. It is registered somewhere. Its former staff describe it on their own profiles. Its site can be read by a stranger at a fixed date and one field recorded against it, which is exactly what we did to 40 of them. An individual leaves a different residue: a biography, a set of profiles, guest articles, podcast appearances, conference listings and a personal domain. Every one of those is supplied by the subject, and several of them are accepted by the host without a check.
That is not an accusation. It is the ordinary shape of a personal brand, and it applies to every consultant in every field. The consequence for a buyer is narrow and specific: the volume of material about a person is not evidence about that person, and reading more of it does not increase what you know. A partner who spends an evening reading twenty pages produced by one individual has read one source twenty times.
The useful move is to sort what you find by who controlled it, then look only at the rows you did not have to take on trust.
Which evidence about a named individual is not written by them?
Four kinds, out of the seven a name search typically returns.
| What you find | Who controlled it | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Their own site and biography | The individual | The claim exists |
| A directory or profile listing | The individual, usually self-submitted | That a form was completed |
| A guest article on a publisher's site | The individual, subject to an editor | An editor accepted the piece |
| A conference or panel listing | The individual and a selection committee | Somebody chose them for a slot |
| A live page they wrote, on a client's own domain | The client | Craft, readable in five minutes |
| Access to the client's analytics and search accounts | The client | Whether the work is portable |
| A referee you found yourself, not one you were given | You | The strongest thing available |
The bottom three rows are worth more than the top four combined, and only the bottom three require the individual to introduce you to somebody who is not them.
Ask for the fifth row first, because it is free and fast. A page written about a practice area, read by a partner who works in that area, is close to impossible to fake and takes about five minutes to judge. Ask whether the first paragraph answers the question a client typed, or introduces the firm. On 39 of the 54 money searches we measured on 3 August 2026 an AI-generated summary sits above the ordinary results, so a page that saves its answer for the fourth paragraph is summarized without attribution and the visit never happens. That is a judgment about writing, visible on any sample they are willing to show you.
The seventh row is the one people skip because it feels impolite. Find a firm in your field on their client list, and contact that firm yourself rather than accepting a referee who was selected for you.
What is seo for law firms, in the part one person can actually do?
Search work for a law firm is the construction and maintenance of pages that answer the questions prospective clients type, plus the technical conditions that let those pages be found and quoted.
Most of it is writing. A named individual can do that part at a high standard and frequently better than a large team, because the pages are being written by the person who understood the practice area rather than by whoever was free that week. The parts that scale badly for one person are the ones with no ceiling: rebuilding a site, maintaining dozens of pages, covering an absence.
| Supplier | Published a price, 3 Aug 2026 |
|---|---|
| attorneyatlawmagazine.com | No |
| idr.legal | Yes |
| lawyerist.com | No |
Three of the 40, and none of them is a person. We will not say what idr.legal charges. The figures our tooling collected from these pages mixed genuine fees with case values and sentence fragments, so the only claim we stand behind is whether a figure was visible on the day.
How long does seo take for law firms?
Three to four months before anything moves, six to nine before the work can be judged fairly, and a first month that produces nothing measurable at all.
That last part is the damaging admission this page owes you, and it applies to us as much as to anyone. Month one is a build month. There is nothing to report at the end of it, and a proposal that compresses this timeline is describing a sale rather than a project. Nobody controls the ranking, so nobody can promise you a position, a date or a number of clients.
With an individual the timeline carries one extra question that a company's does not: what happens to month five if the person is unavailable in month four. Ask it plainly, and ask where the credentials and the drafts live while you wait.
What do we charge, and what do we refuse to do?
Our Practice Sprint is $1,450 and the build tier is $2,900. Fixed, published, with no minimum term.
Of the 40 suppliers read on 3 August 2026, 12 published a price at all, 5 showed only a range beginning with the word from, 8 claimed a guarantee of some kind, and 1 offered work with no minimum term. We are the one. That is a fact about a thin market rather than a boast.
We never charge per inquiry, per case or per matter. Referral arrangements are restricted in prescribed legal business and the restriction binds the firm paying as well as the party paid, so we price by scope and time. We do not manage advertising spend, and we do not fix intake — if the phone is answered badly, more visitors make that worse.
Before you shortlist anyone
We read 40 legal-marketing suppliers in full in August 2026 — including several named on this page. Twelve published a price. One offered work with no minimum term.
The free report gives you the full count, named, so you can repeat the reading rather than take ours. It also shows how many people search for your practice areas in your town, and what those clicks cost to buy at Google's own prices.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a review of Gerrid Smith?
No. We hold no record of this person, we have audited nothing about them, and we sell competing services, so nothing here describes their work, results, clients or pricing.
Why is this person not in your 40-supplier reading?
Our reading covered 40 business websites drawn from the top ten organic results for fifteen buying terms on 3 August 2026, and no individual practitioner appears in it.
Does being absent from your benchmark mean anything?
No. It records only that a site was not among the pages we read that day, which is a fact about our sample rather than about any business or person.
What is the single most useful check on an individual supplier?
Read a live page they wrote, on a client's own domain, in the practice area you work in, and judge whether the first paragraph answers the reader's question.
Why is a personal brand harder to verify than a company?
Because most of what a name search returns was authored or submitted by the person it names, so reading more of it does not increase what you actually know.
How long should search work take to show results?
Three to four months for movement, six to nine before a fair judgment, and a first month that produces nothing measurable, whoever you buy it from.
What do you charge, and is there a minimum term?
The Practice Sprint is $1,450 and the build tier is $2,900, both fixed and published, with no minimum term.
Can a supplier bill you per inquiry?
We will not. Referral arrangements are restricted in prescribed legal business and the restriction binds the firm paying as well as the party paid, so we charge by scope and time.
