project intro

TV Edwards was established in the East End of London in 1929 and has grown into a Chambers & Partners ranked, Legal 500 leading, and Times Top 100 Law Firm, serving individuals, families, and businesses from offices in Whitechapel and Clapham Junction. With 16+ practice areas spanning family, property, and business law, the firm needed a redesign that matched its standing — presenting complex services clearly, surfacing its award credentials, and making it straightforward for clients to find support at what is often a very difficult time.

PROBLEM

TV Edwards needed a website that reflected nearly a century of legal expertise while remaining accessible to clients navigating difficult personal circumstances — from family law and housing disputes to criminal defence and Court of Protection matters. Authority and warmth had to coexist.

CHALLENGES

  • Presenting 16+ practice areas across three distinct client audiences — individuals and families, property clients, and businesses — without overwhelming a visitor in need was the central design challenge. Legal aid-funded work also needed to be clearly signalled alongside privately funded services.

OUR SOLUTION

We structured the site around the firm’s three audience segments, built clear entry points for each practice area, and embedded the firm’s Chambers, Legal 500, and Lexcel credentials throughout — creating a site that builds trust immediately and guides each visitor to the right team.

Design Process

Research

We mapped how different client groups approach TV Edwards — a family in housing crisis, a business facing licensing issues, a private client needing conveyancing. Their ‘You & Your Family / Property / Business’ structure was a clear strategic foundation to build on and sharpen.

Design

High-fidelity layouts were developed around TV Edwards’ values — professionalism, clarity, respect, and care. Award and accreditation signals were built in from the first scroll, and solicitor team pages were structured to support both credibility and personal connection.

Testing

Key flows were tested across all three audience segments — from arriving via a practice area search to finding a solicitor profile and making contact. Accessibility was given particular attention, befitting a firm with long-standing commitment to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients.

Feedback

Final refinements addressed the balance between the firm’s scale and its community roots — producing a site that feels established and trustworthy, while remaining warm and approachable for clients arriving in difficult circumstances.
